About Something Fishy!

Something Fishy is owned and operated by Michael McVearry, a local businessman on the Outer Banks.  He has owned the land where the store sits for over 30 years.  In addition to the store, the property features a beach house that rents weekly in-season and a bed and breakfast that is open all year.  Mike resides full-time on the third floor of the inn and can often be found on his boat.  He does all the purchasing for the shop – suggestions are welcome.

Located in a quaint beach cottage across from the ocean, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, is a unique gift shop offering an extensive array of fish-themed gifts, tropical clothing and beach décor that features one of a kind handcrafted pieces of jewelry, furniture and art by premier local artists.

Shopping at Something Fishy is a fun, relaxed treasure hunting adventure.  We have at least one of everything… and sometimes two of nothing.  You’re invited to come in for a shopping experience you won’t soon forget.  In one stop, you can decorate your home, your garden and your life with our festive fishy wares!
